SRC Ferrari 312 T4

Here is a model many classic fans have talked about since it was announced. SRC has impressed some with the detail level they achieve and I am certain that this release will appeal to them immediately. As for the average home racer? That will remain to be seen.

If you like detail, here it is. From the markings on the tires to the working (somewhat) steering, this should please the detail oriented enthusiast.

I hope you enjoyed the video as it sums it all up. On the outside the car is very appealing. Yes it is fragile, especially that front spoiler/wing. It is just snapped on and likely will break on the first tough crash so consider yourself warned.

Even underneath we see some nice exhaust detail.

You also notice the small magnet in the rear. Strong enough for most enthusiasts.

The markings on the tires are interesting and should really appeal those detail enthusiasts. If you do want to change tires, the Paul Gage 22168FF tires fit but you will need to glue them and then true them for best performance. I will just leave this car alone for my track.

Onto the inside where most of you have expressed interest.

The offset style gearing is a configuration we have seen before. Flyslot has done this in the past as shown here in the Williams. This gearing is not the smoothest we have ever had, but it did function. I really cannot say how durable they are as I have not had extended time to test. I can say some of my Flyslot cars are still going, then again I do not race them in anger very often.

The main drawback is there are no spares and no tuning options. So you are limited to what you get in the car. This is perhaps the biggest flaw of these models, including the ones from Flyslot. If you only want to run it occasionally then this may not be an issue at all./p>

The rest of the car is shown above and no real surprises other than the motor. It has plenty of power and moves the model along well enough for my taste.

The guide has angled braid which is rather odd, but they function. As I stated in the video, the steering is not that precise but it is there for those that want it.

This is a truly unique model and will appeal to the scale enthusiast as well as collectors I'm certain. I like the car and will take it out and enjoy it from time to time but it's just not a model for hard racing in my eyes. But not all slot cars have to be. Sometimes just a model to make a few laps is all you really need.
