Yes. They stay in your outbox until the recipient opens and reads is. Sort of like a read receipt so you know they got it.

The whole silicone effect isn't an issue as far as my track. (Same paint as yours). It takes many, MANY laps to effect anything and once a I run a few laps with a stock rubber or PG, whatever was there (or not there) is irrelevant. The white or black foam board at Wal-Mart works great. The stuff the kids use for the Science and other presentation back drops. Just trim and hot glue.
