Re: Tyers Targa

I have a confession to make - I never realized you were a woman. ... http://i604.photobucket.com/albums/tt122/fading_embers/Bits%20n%20pieces/rofl_hard_smiley.gif Hopefully now some things make more sense, David. :D I've really just been muddling through all this scenery business. Had never done an...

Re: Tyers Targa

Thanks Jon. The slot boxes are a whole other saga that started off as an experiment. Might give them a thread of their own. I'm trying to source some large display boxes at a cheap enough price, rather than the recycled ones I'm currently using. That way I might be able to sell some.

A suitable home for your special cars

I looked around for somewhere more suitable to put these, but there really isn't anywhere. They are roads, sort of. Just really, really short ones. When I entered my second OzRally Proxy series I was scratching around for something to put together for a trophy. Originally I was going to put a small ...

Re: A suitable home for your special cars

David, the Touareg is a large car, I'm surprised it doesn't overhang the Scalex base. I have a Ninco Ford Ranger raid truck which actually came on a molded base which I must admit, helped the idea of the scenic bases along a bit. I notice there are now a few of the smaller niche producers that are m...

Re: Tyers Targa

Some of us are also looking forward to seeing more work on your track David. Hope the shoulder is healing well. Got to get back to work on the track this week. I've an article to write, which means I need something to write about or more to the point pictures to go with it. So, I'll be up to my elbo...

Re: A suitable home for your special cars

Well. I stripped off the crumbed foam foliage from the creeper and replaced it with something else. http://i604.photobucket.com/albums/tt122/fading_embers/Scenic%20experiments/Converted%20crystal%20cases/02_ivywall.jpg http://i604.photobucket.com/albums/tt122/fading_embers/Scenic%20experiments/Conve...

Re: A suitable home for your special cars

Thanks for the kind words guys. I have, of course, saved the best until last. At least it's my current favourite, that may have something to do with being the latest one completed though. The world's shortest rally stage. I realise some of you may not fully understand the concept of rallying. Call i...

Re: A suitable home for your special cars

Bibbster, I think my other half would probably agree with you, although perhaps not with quite the same emphasis. Thanks Dave. I'm currently trying to find a source of display boxes at least the size of the 1/24 Carrera ones. I think the second hand boxes limits the resale possibilities a bit. The n...

Thanks. Always good to know someone reads it. :) The one of the Bengal in my signature is one that didn't make the cut.

Re: the start of my first track after 35 years

Ooh. Slotting is waaay too addictive. It's a wealth hazard. They need to put warnings from the Surgeon General (or whatever he's called in America) on the slot car boxes. You've been warned! Once infected there is no known cure. The sufferer may go through periods of remission but symptoms will usua...

Re: A suitable home for your special cars

Bibbster, I think shipping will always be a bit of a problem. Even though I'm in one of the most populated states down here, I'm still a long way away from anywhere useful. My fault for enjoying the rural quiet life these days. At the moment the best price I can get for 1/24 sized display boxes is a...

Re: Officially Retired

It would seem congratulations are in order.

Though many say retirement doesn't mean that the work stops, just the pay packet.

Enjoy yourself doing whatever it is you want most to do.
