Re: Single flange bushing motor mounts

I'm curious about that, too. But I have seen it mentioned more than once here on HRW as an aside talking about commercial tracks.

Re: Aurora 32 Ford sedan hot rod

I always wanted to have a "Hot Rods To Hell" race. Getting bodies that were decent scale and detail was always the problem, unless we went to vac-form. I wanted to make a rule that only decorative decals could be used (flames, pinstriping, etc), and the wildest custom paint that could be a...

Re: Tudor electric football

As you know, that game has a lot of fans around here. I go so far back, I wasn't aware they still made it. I wonder if a plastic field is different from the sheet steel ones I knew.

Re: Fiat Dino Le Mans 1968

Years ago, a friend of mine had a Fiat 850 Spyder. That car- exactly that car, was what he fantasized about when he drove his tiny little Fiat. Eventually, he got another one, much nicer, and he raced his original on weekends. He called it his "Dino Jr".

Re: Mornin' all

We're on our 3rd Spring right now (thaw-budding-freeze, repeat), with snow predicted for Saturday. We have had a lot of wind here, too, which is unusual this time of year here. I was wearing shorts a couple of days ago, and it was 32F when I got up this morning. woof.

Re: Tudor electric football

Help me remember, guys. I remember a metal spring-loaded kicker. And I remember the little vanes under the players as clear, brittle plastic. But the fore-and-aft clip-on thing under these players also looks really familiar. Am I remembering different eras? There were 3 of these in my neighborhood (...

Re: Mornin' all

I have been acquiring lots of bits and pieces for a big Spring project lately. Sorting through the goodies has been a great pleasure. I actually have gathered so many excellent bodies and plastic wheels for inserts, I am going to inventory my brass supply as a next step. This is going to be fun!

Re: Tudor electric football

Yeah, I remember we howled when the stiff-arm actually hit perfect and the runner sailed by. One of our guys' mother made us a pile of new footballs in several colors. We were all boys, so we used the white ones from the set until they were fuzzballs and still resisted the new ones she made. They we...

Re: Inspiring

Come to think of it... isn't that what you guys see when watching cars on the track? It could be that this is why I don't really care if I win. I just get a huge kick out of seeing something I made go around the track.

Re: Mildly Stupid Question-Cut Down Wheel Inserts

There's a unique method invented by our member DDyke in which a cheap Harbor Freight oscillating drum sander is used while the car is hooked up to power (turning in opposition). In no time at all, you have two plastic wheels the right diameter to slice off and glue into aluminum wheels.
