Re: Toyota 88C Anglewinder Conversion

I do believe you will find that tendancy to 'go straight' can be corrected with about 2 grams of lead right under the front axle.

With the torque of the Flat-6 motor, the front end tends to get very light under hard acceleration.

The 2 grams make a big difference.

Just For Bibbster - Food Topic - Hamburgers?

Okay, now that we have the understanding of whether it's stuffing or dressing, how about getting down to something basic. Hamburgers . . . . . the All America grill favorite. Myself, I prefer 80/20 ground chuck to make my patties with. After I form the patties, I season them with: Garlic Powder Onio...

Re: New slot racer in the making!

Tubby, Congrats! Becoming a "Dad" is an awesome experience! My 'little guy' is going to be 34 here soon. He is in his final year of residency and will then be a Family Practitioner. The time flies. Now if the time to pose those kind of quesitons to the wife. Trust me, after about February,...

Re: Monogram Vintage NASCAR

Heck, I'm sure no one here has ever done ANYTHING to add to the 'hash' that bothers our electronic devices!

Hey, adding solid core ignition wires made the cars run better. You just could not hear the AM radio any more!

Re: Finally...a food topic! Dressing or Stuffing?

Many years ago we were working down in Peru. Our company had a contract to put telephone switching systems in to 10 towns. We had 2 teams, one for the south and one for the north. I wound up on the south team. I found out that "Fresh Water Shrimp" was actually crawfish - not an issue. One ...

Re: Hard body chassis wish list

We just finished up with one of the most FUN racing seasons at our local slot car track. We raced Parma FCR cars. 4.5 inch behemoths that run exceedingly good for what they are. For $39.99 you get a solid brass chassis, motor, wheels, tires, axles, guide, wires, etc'. About the only thing you have t...

Re: DeBary Glen Raceway- Race Results

Carl,

We race Group C and 'another category' each Tuesday.

HOWEVER, we can race just about anything if you and yours make the trek on some weekend.

We would love to have y'all come down for a visit. We do reciprocate.

Re: Older Fly Daytona Prototypes

ModlerBob, Well "Magic" has been worked on my Fly DP Doran "Kodak" car. When the crown gear went out after about 20 laps, I decided that I would upgrade the car to some 'aftermarket parts'. I had a Slot.It CH49 sitting in the spare parts box. Since the Fly has a Flat-6 like motor...

"SuperFly" Pod Mod Successful!

As reported earlier, my good friend ModlerBob had told me about a buy he had found on eBay. It was a pair of older Fly DP cars for a really good price. I was asked if I wanted half of the purchase and I agreed. Last week during our "Tuesday Fun Day" I got to try running my Fly DP Doran. Af...

It's Now "Offciail" ! ! !

Tuesday is normally "Fun Day" for my friend ModlerBob and myself. A typical Tuesday involves heading to ModlerBob's Scalextric Sport track based "DeBary Glen" here in sunny central Florida. Yesterday we got started about 10:30 AM and spent all day there having fun playing with, e...

Re: Older Fly Daytona Prototypes

Adding all the parametes - stare and compare, creative thinking, measuring, re-measuring, measuring again, finally making the cuts - I would have to say about 90 minutes. The thing that made it really easy - at least for me - was using the Fly axle bushings in their stock location and the Slot.It ax...
