Re: Racing by yourself

Racing against a ghost is better then racing against no one. But then again, racing at all is much better then not racing.

As long as you are having fun, then it's a great thing.

Re: Any new tracks planned/major changes?

Well it would appear that of yesterday, another track will soon be added to DeBary Glen Raceway. ModlerBob & I travled to take a look at a track that is being sold in our area. It is a 4 lane routed road course of 65 feet in length. The track is very smooth, runs extremely well and a deal was st...

Re: Scalextric Jim Clark Lotus C3311

All I can or will say on the subject is simple . . . . . Scalextric must have put some sort of very special magnet in this car! They might have used that mostobtainable magnet I've been reading about. At least that is what I told me wife. As I walked into my local slot car place of business there wa...

Re: TGIF! What's going on out there?

Well I just bought a 1967 Ford Fairlane made by Revo-Gram. It handles kind of funky, but I'm sure I can make it better. The chassis kind of 'fell out' of the car and some wire and brass bits started to show their faces, so I do believe that we will soon see all the running gear in a new chassis unde...

Re: Nascar thoughts no bashing

Well since it was started, I might as well my own 2¢ on the subject. Back in the heydays of NASCAR you could actually go to your local car dealer and purchase a car with supposedly more horsepower then was raced on Sunday. The 421 SD Pontiacs that were raced were limited to a single 4 bbl carbure...

Re: Nascar thoughts no bashing

I agree with Mark, and I'll go so far as to say that if they followed his formula, I would come back to NASCAR. Taledega had 30,000 folks this year, in the 300,000 capacity facility . Maybe they will listen to Mark and win some of us back, huh? Meanwhile, I had to laugh at the title here... What's ...

Jesla,

Since we do not have a 'Like' button here on HRW, I hope this will suffice.

Re: The future with Anglewinders

As someone that started to slot car race in the commercial world back in the early 60's, I have seen the inlines, then sidewinders, back to inlines and finally the anglewinder came around in 1968. I think the application of these different drive configurations allows the development of more cars. An...

Re: Finally NASCAR dumps the rule I hate.

H'mmm . . . . did NASCAR drop it, or did they just repackage it? With the new rules you have the fastest 36 cars make the field. Right now it's 35. So we have 1 less position to give out as a provisional. Actually there is only a single provsional under the new rules. So we have 36 of the fastest an...

First Order to Slot Car Corner for 2013?

I just placed my order for some controller holders and driver's station hardware to start one of my planned 2013 activities. The receipt from Slot Car Corner was dated today @ 11:21 AM. Does anyone have an earlier receipt? I know it's a holiday and it won't be shipped until the shop is opened back u...

Re: First Order to Slot Car Corner for 2013?

Either that, or I get to be the "Dum-Dum of The Year"?

That could work both ways!

A spider's touch
Such a lead finger
Beckons you to enter his web of win
But don't go in
