Re: Slot Car Corner '73 IROC Proxy Rules and Scheduling

Hi Audi1, I hate to turn anyone away from a proxy, but this one is to be ran just like the first, 12 cars, 12 racers. We had one alternate but everybody that initially committed is in, and may need to be committed after all the craziness that surrounds this race. Having said that, there may v...

Re: Bibbster repainting a Porsche 356 for me

Looks very clean to me; and it's looking "yellower" than it was a day or two ago; even without the body paint.............

Agree, that paint stand is very nice.

Re: Michigan 4th annual 24 hour race

Thanks cgringas.

What teams correspond to what numbers? I can see from Dickie's name (and last year's results) that team 1 is SCC. But, I don't know who the rest are.......

Re: Michigan 4th annual 24 hour race

Is it really about 42 laps to the mile? If so, then the nominal difference between first and second now; approx. 8 miles, translates into 336 laps, or at an average of 7.2 seconds per lap, roughly 40 minutes; almost the time of a complete 48 minute driving stint.....................YIKES!

Magnet replacement - How do they do this?

I have a Fly Porsche 917k (Shell livery) and I want to upgrade the disc magnet that comes standard with the car; and that is housed in the motor pod, with a Scalextric bar magnet. I've seen the below how-to (October 7, 2008, the Electric Dream Team) and I'd like to perform it. But, I can't figure ou...

Re: 1968 Trans-Am Champion Adamowicz Porsche 911S build

The paint and decals look terrific, Thompson!

The chasses are in the works now; slim can (FF0050 and FC-130), so it will be great to see how the two match up together; all pre-testing and shipping out to Alexis in Greece for the Pony Wars Proxy on the 20th.

Re: 1968 Trans-Am Champion Adamowicz Porsche 911S build

Truly artistic work there, Thompson. Congratulations on building out a great looking, very authentic body for this car. ! I hope I can do the chassis justice when we combine the two and hit the track. I'll post some of the chassis pics as I go along with this project. April 20th is the ship-off date...

Re: Magnet replacement - How do they do this?

We can add weight to the underside of the chassis for some classes, but no magnets. I agree, it looks like they used the Dremel as a router, but do you think it was done by hand or do you think they put the dremel upside down in some sort of jig to get such a straight cut across the front of the mot...

Re: Magnet replacement - How do they do this?

We can't do a chassis replacement or an HRS2 chassis would already be underneath the body. Good idea on lowering the magnet, but, for me, the big disadvantage of the old Fly circular magnet set-up is that you have magnetism when you don't really need it and you don't have it when you do. The circula...
