This will be my first ever proxy, first resin car build and first dirt track car I finished. Whole lotta firsts here. First a big thanks to Bob for the bodies and other parts I truly appreciate and Harry for all the great how to to draw inspiration from (copy). I for 2 coupe bodies from Bob and chose this one because the white material was easier for me to work with. So here are some pics enjoy.

Chassis

Got the rear bumper done

Final touches to the chassis

Chassis is painted

Motor and driver painted up. Not the best job on the driver but it will get the job done.
Image

Radiator and motor intalled. Motor is actually a 1/25 motor but I think it works here.

Mocked up here....Still a ways to go but its looking like something now anyway. Not happy with the color was supposed to be a matte red but it is not. I will just be going with a glossy red paint

Anyway there she is I got about 7 days total into it with a little here and a little there. I should finish it up tomorrow and have some better pics.

Dave, looks like a winner! That's a very clean build for the chassis & nerf bars.

How do you guys get such sharp, smooth bends in tubing. I usually have to bend two pieces to get one piece the shape I want!

Cant speak for everyone on this, but all my sidebars and really anything other than frame rails, are made from 2mm bar stock. its easy to bend, and does not kink.

Correct. I use solid rod for side nerf bars and just use a good old needle nose.

This is just one of those things Willis was talking about :)

Oustanding. Just outstanding. And your first build too. Anyone shy about building should jump in after seeing this.

I forgot to mention, Harry showed me some soft brass rod last weekend. I am going to start using it for my side bars and bumpers. It will bend upon impact, and should add a touch of realism to the cars after some serious Oval battles!
