thanks guys I have enjoyed working on it. I was inspired by these digital renderings of a Ford Fairlane.

Brian - That is a mean machine! That hasn’t just been modified, it’s been weaponized! Nice craftsmanship.

Will you be moving the wheels outboard?

Are those helper springs out back Pinter up front? I love body roll!

Wheels and tires will remain inside the body. Kinda made a mistake there but I like the look now. I had built up the fender flares before I built the chassis or had received the new tire diameters....so if I would put the wheels flush with the outside of the body would have to raise the body way up or grind away the flares. I hope the narrow wheel width is not to detrimental to handling. I do have some spring action on the rear body mount and a single front mount that has some 'float'.

The NERF team have been hard at work on their Sportsman cars! We compared notes at the SCCA Proxy:

Veteran builder Tom had his Dairy Queen Special well underway, complete with spoon fender flares!

BillyBoy had his chassis nearly finished, ready for one of Harry’s big bodies. Bill used a Sampson guide mount:

BobB completed his first soldered chassis and will be putting his plastic kit modeling skills to use next!

Love the big meaty tires on this car!

Methe’s tests imply that the Piranha motor is too much for these cars at 10 volts. We are testing an 18k Tuna motor next.

Seems the 16K Tuna motor and 9/27 gearing works the best here at 10V. It could have a bit more speed, maybe a mild 18K motor. Bill is bringing his car over tomorrow to see how it runs at Cornerstone , it has the Piranha motor installed. We will compare notes!

I’ve got mine ready to go. Have decals ready after a little more testing.
