The Hot Laps Racing almost-ready-to-run car looks really cool with the cage detail. That contemporary midget, with the Falcon 7 motor and wide foams will be a missile - kind of like the real midgets are - *very very* fast little cars.
Even with the brass chassis, when you can get traction, the front wheels will pull up and out of the slot when you hit it at the beginning of the straight - It is that quick - so add lead weights just aft of the front axle. The pinion and crown are correct, the rotation sticker was placed incorrectly on many of the Falcons (and no it is NOT the Coriolis effect). It should be happy on a wood track, and drive best with a 4 ohm controller or something in that neighborhood at 12V. Tiger's Milk to clean and condition the foams - lighter fluid to clean them off real good if they are picking up junk off the track.
Looking forward to seeing your builds...
Thanks for all the links and info - very useful to lurkers and builders.
