Posted: Thu Sep 20, 2012 7:45 amI just had a really good experience with a company here in New Hampshire. John Bonardi of Bonardi Associates was selling some old slot cars on Craigslist. John was having trouble selling the items and ended up giving us the two cars, a box, controller, and some tools. When I expressed my intent to find a local kid to give the stuff to, he also included a check that will cover maintenance and the rebuilds for a whole season. We never solicited any of this, John just kept making generous offers. Now we've found a kid to drive the cars and I'll be busy this weekend getting the Bonardi Fords ready for the Modified and Islip races. We are looking forward to working with driver Kyle Perham the rest of this season teaching him oval racing, so that he can compete in the full season next year.
This model may work if you have a track and need racers. There may be some other aspiring car owners out there who might want to live the dream. Offer some service to sweeten the deal. We'll take pictures with Kyle and the cars, do a press release, and send regular race reports and pictures.
