Got Jalopy's?

Postby btaylor » Thu Jan 22, 2015 7:36 am

Working on getting the orders done for the coupes, almost there!
Should be enough of them to Fuel that crazy Oval fever!, Maybe even Harry's? Naw, no way. He suffers from Terminal Ovalocity.
the mold is holding up pretty well,so I will cast till it gives up. My Mentor on this instructed me on the undercuts, so my mold would last longer, and he was so right. Thanks Shotgun! you are the man!

Dave, can you re-post the picture of the white 1/24 scale coupe you built a while back? I cant find it, and THAT is an inspiration for some builds for sure!
thanks in advance

Yes Sir! That's the one!!! This is THE Car that kept me searching for a 1/32 car to copy in resin.
Every once in a while a bulid comes along that just Haunts you, and this was/is mine!
Dave, you will have to do a different build on your 1/32 version, because I am SO going to copy this one! With maybe just enough variation to keep from out and out plagiarizing your build  Theft of design?, maybe, Copying as flattery, Hell yes!
Thanks for posting Buddy, you made my day.

Not Boring at all! thats pretty cool actually, I cant do the exact decals that you did,(lack of skill) but I do want to at least capture the overall "feel" of this car. Since I had asked you to post this, I had been thinking, What I should do is a Tribute to THIS car!, now that I know the history of it, it only seems natural, Maybe Take it to the next level class wise? Maybe what the shop would have done in the Mod class a couple of years later? Don't know, its hard not to just flat out copy this one!

Shameless

Not a Direct copy by any means, but I wanted to keep the same feel as Daves car, yet take it to the next seasons upgrades.
You cant see the So-Cal Speedway sponsor over the windshield area but it's there!
Good ways to go, but you get the idea.Image
