:?: Do you know the overall width of the policar motor/axle mount unit. I need a very narrow one for a project I have in mind. Penelope Pitlane SM1m is the narrowest I've found so far.

Its 17mm wide Mike if you cut off the water pipes. With some more careful material removal you can get it to 16mm without affecting anything structural.
How does that sound?

Bob, I did consider doing an added tutorial on lowering the driver but decided that was beyond the scope of the How-to......

Thank you Andi. 16mm will work. I've managed to get a Scalex A1 chassis down to 16mm by gluing an extra bushing section in and then cutting one old one off :o
But i have had difficulty finding a narrow pinion to fit between the bushings and still align the gear mesh. Which is why the Policar looks interesting. I will have to dig all my previous work out and have a look.
