As silly as this sounds, I never would have thought to trim that side of the motor shaft. That's an excellent tip!

Another option might be to use that Slot.It axle that's thinner in the center. Don't know if it's thin enough, though.

That's exactly how I do mine. I just hook the motor up to my power supply, and run at about 3 volts, take the Dremel with a cut off wheel, and slowly cut through the motor shaft. Makes a nice neat finished end on the shaft. :)

Well finished it off. Not much more in mods here. Just PG tires. Wheels were straight, just needed a good truing session.



Used hot glue to secure the 3 bushings. Used flexible tubing for the new motor shaft connection. Little of my break-in "stuff" on the gears and things are pretty smooth. Not looking for these gears to last a long time (gray) but so far it is all right.



Used a little hot glue under the motor to keep it secure and stop the rockin' :)

All in all it was fun working on this old ride.



Funny. Even though these are older models, you would be hard pressed to find better detail. Fly really did a decent job.
