Guys

As someone who has seen this in the flesh (resin?), I can attest to the fact that this is a fantastic piece of work!

Firstly: I have always had a soft spot for the Europa, so that already starts with a positive. On top of that Dan has done an excellent job of the molding.

Secondly: the chassis is something to behold! It is a real jewel: small, perfectly finished and the piece de resistance: adjustable so he can move it between the Europa and his Lotus 11. And those tyres! If it wasn't for the fact that he needed a crown gear in there I think he might have been able to get the rear tyres to meet in the middle of the chassis! As it is I think this is probably the highest ratio of tyre width:track that I have ever seen: probably around 60%

And finally: it flies! Hardly credible how this little rocket goes around the track: you have to see it to believe it.

Well done Dan: for a long time I have considered you the "small car master". Now with this it is hard to see how you can do any better.

Enjoyed driving this car in its unfinished state so much that I took a couple of months before putting on some paint. Was thinking of a traditional color and then went off on a tangent.

Got to it today with Tamiya sand metallic spray, Pactra gold trim tape and Tamiya Lin Gray brush paint for the windscreen trim and bumpers.

Turned out well.

Still got to apply Future finish, install windows and interior tray/driver, insert filler gas cap and headlights, paint small details and lay down some decals.

Looks Good Dan, I like it in the Gold Livery, and it has a very nice stance to it.

Lou E,

Just cast it myself from a friend`s kit.

http://homeracingworld.us/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=10345

It`s my favorite cast to date.

Fortunately, Luf has a vacuum form machine, so we were able to make windscreens from a plaster mold.

Progress is inching along.

Sweet!

I am going through slot car withdrawal over here in Ontario. Any slotters around Huntsville? I can't wait to get home to get building a chassis for my Europa. Made any more moulds while I've been away?

If I miss you before you leave, have a good trip back to Winnipeg, and we'll see you in the fall.

Impressive work Dan. I like the paint and stripes, very well done.

How good does it feel to build up a body of your own making?

Your comparison to the Mustang got my attention, so I researched it. The Europa should be a foot narrower and a foot shorter, but almost the same height. How's that for weird? I've seen these cars up close, drove a '69 Mach 1 for a month while a guy borrowed my motorcycle, and sat in a Europa (or tried to), and I would have sworn the Europa would be much smaller, especially in height. Looks like you have it pretty close to dead on, Dan.

Excellent job of casting. If you ever want to sell a couple, I would like to build slot cars of my
two 1:1 cars.
