S.o.u.p....Summer Of the Unfinished Project

Postby HRWJim » Fri Jun 24, 2016 6:28 pm

Have been away for a while for many reasons. Fathers Day brought me back, 2 gift certs. to SCC and the Sunoco Pioneer Camaro release for presents got me looking at all the "projects" I have started that remain unfinished. So I have designated this summer as the time to complete as many as possible. On the block first are the Brass Am( a 67 Camaro)and the 90's Nascar. Started chassis on both and I have Dale's Lumina that I will be posting picks soon. Anyone else have unfinished projects that are waiting for a little love? Jim

S.o.u.p....Summer Of the Unfinished Project

Postby Z-carfan » Fri Jun 24, 2016 9:01 pm

Hi Jim, welcome back. I have a 90's NASCAR, a 100th Indy proxy roadster and just ordered more resin kits from New Zealand! To make things more fun, going on altitude vacation with the family, so everything will be waiting for me to get back.

Youp! I've got unfinished projects, enough to last a year. Trouble is I just get one done and then I go and order more bodies from Munter or someone offers me more cars to build up. Then, of course my friendly 3D printer friend bring me another of his creations. For those I always build two chassis. One for my body and one for his. The latest is a Lister Knobbly that he designed from the blueprints, no less.

My desk is littered with bodies, chassis, motor pods and wheels, just waiting to be assembled.

My slot cave is the coolest part of the house, so if it gets too hot outside, I'll just hunker down and clear the desk.

Looks like a productive summer ahead, eh?

Let's see...............

Two Pony Wars Proxy cars; one '70 Camaro, one '68 Porsche 911
One 100 Years of Indy Proxy car..................you all know about that one....................
One Carrera DTM Audi A5 Proxy car..........................
One GVSCC Porsche 908-3 Proxy car..........................
Two La Carrera Panamericana-2 Proxy cars: one Porsche 550 coupe, one OSCA MT-4
One Group 5 North American Proxy BMW M1 (thanks for reminding me, Tony!)

There must be more......it's seems like there's more..................hmmmm............I'm sure that there's more.....................

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's a monkey wrench in the system..........I helped to host a golf tournament fundraiser yesterday for our local Council on Aging. I've never played golf................but, it looks like it might be fun. I'm thinking Callaway Strata as a starting set..................hmmm, maybe there aren't that many cars on my bench after all............ ;)

Proxy Cars to build or finish:

Pony Wars, Alfa Romeo GTa and I have not started the 911s
GVSCC, Ferrari 312pb and Porsche 904 tuning which do I send ?
Pan Am 2 Porsche 356 still in pieces
Group 5 Porsche K2 v2.0 rebuild not started

Finished my Can Am GTU car for 2017  hope it's a good one. Crazy how things work the car farthest from competing is complete.
