1957 Dodge Coronet

This is a 1/32 resin body that I got from Ebay. This body needed a lot of work to get it decent looking,it was very rough! I always liked this body style so the extra work is worth it to me. Cutting out the windows was pretty tough too. I didn't cut out the vent windows though, I figured it might weaken the roof a bit if I did. Making the curved windshield was the next toughest thing for me to make, but a little heat from my wife's hair dryer while holding it in position in the opening dose the trick! The paint is Rustoleum enamel.

The body is mounted on a Artin chassis with a modified wheel base. The wheels are from Carrera, rear tires are Paul Gage. Power is from a Jack Rabbit motor. The interior is made up from the spare parts box. Body trim was done with chrome foil and the bumpers are done with Molotow chrome paint markers. Head lamp lenses are from the spare parts box too.

That is a very good scale effort on that car. Not easy for the big sleds of the 1950s-early 60s. Reminds me of my 1966 Coronet 500. I loved that car. You did great, and that car actually did come in those colors. I trust you knew that.

Beautiful, a sight for sore eyes. You have done an amazing job on my all time favourite car but I do prefer the '58 front end slightly more.

Thanks guys! Eric, your friends Coronet sounds great! Doesn't handle too bad for a oldie. The torsion bar suspension works well. My slot car looks about the same going around the track. :D

Well my parents first new car was a '57 Plymouth Belvedere. That's how my brother and I became MOPAR fanatics at the tender age of 5 and 3. Now mind you ours was a 4 door. Had to have rear doors with 3 kids. Some funny kind of salmon/pink and white. Couldn't find a picture of one.

Great looking car. Brings back the memories.

The video was great. I love how the car wallows in the turns.
