Lime Rock Park building from Match Sticks

Postby turbokev » Wed Apr 02, 2014 9:15 am

Some of you know from my post about my Dad that he makes things using match sticks..

When I showed him my track and asked him to build something for it, he was more than happy to oblige.

This post will chronicle his build up of the main building on the front stretch at Lime Rock Park in CT.

When completed, it will be 34 inches long (without the stairs), and 14.5 inches tall.

I'll post updates as I get them from my Dad.. I can't wait to see how it all comes out, he's amazing at this stuff~

The subject matter:

Update 1: The floor to the main building that will sit on posts.. and the right hand walls.

on the left and across the back you can see the narrower spacing to the wood.. those areas are covered by the roof but are not 'within' the main building..
the left is a covered observation deck and across the back is a covered walkway that goes over to where the stairs are..

Very amazing!!

Do you have any idea of the time he has invested thus far?

Would be interesting to keep track of this thru the build.

Absolutely great so far. Once you install this on your track make sure you put up Large, Strong barriers to protect it from flying slot cars! :scared-eek:

Time for a quick update..

Dad has spent a few days drawing up plans and printing them as assembly templates..

Here's what he has put together for the remaining walls on the first floor.
