Big update today.. My Dad was busy this morning putting together the walls and railings he made...

First, Floor section upside down to install the carriers for the main posts..

Then, wall after wall for the first floor was put in to place..

and then the first floor assembly was placed on to the support posts..

Might be a little while till the next update as he needs to work on the plans for the roof and that center upper room..

I think it's amazing.. I'm so glad he's taken on this project for me :D

That's brilliant.

I just showed it to His Lordship who thinks I'm bonkers. I feel so much better because at least I use planks. :)

I knew a guy who made scale models for an architectural firm for their presentations, and he made huge money at it. His work was no one bit better than this.

Any sense of the hours he has in the build thus far.

Can't imagine the effort he has put in already!!

Time for an update~

These are the overhangs that the roof will rest on..

Here they are being glued in to place.. You can see a couple of the photos my Dad is working from..

Here they are in place.. and you can see some supports added as well that go up to them..

Here's the rear view of the building thus far..

I'm not sure if Dad is keeping track of hours spent on it.. He typically works for several hours a day on these projects.
I'm sure it's well up over 100 hours so far~ There's lots of time that goes in to planning, drawing, scaling, and building
sub-structures.. Never mind the intricate assembly of thousands of match sticks~!

Absolutely stunning work! I've thought about tackling a much more modest matchstick project for my HO layout. In one of the early photos, you show what appears to be a glue tube . . . since your father is clearly an expert, can you recommend a glue for a wood structure project?

Thanks!
