sanding bodies

I`ve tried the ol brake fluid deal,made the bodies brittle,so I`m back to sanding,is there any other way of removing factory lettering off the cars??? any help would be much appreciated! thanks

I actually used pine sol it work really well. 97% rubbing alcohol works well also. I know there is a cleaner that works really well it just doesn't seem to work as well with red colors.

I soften with 91% isopropyl alcohol, the rub with T-shirt scraps. Comes right off, even Carrera and Scalextric.

Thanks guys,I`m working on an old HOT WHEELS PRO CIRCUIT 1/43 PONTIAC with # 43 (richard petty)on it plus all the STP stuff all over it,and its being a PIA :lol: Thanks!

I don't know what that is, but the hot wheels cars with the mirror finish were famous for being unstrippable. The hard finish chipped, but didn't melt. I have a set of paints for those things, and from the looks, I think it must be an epoxy type.

got the PONTIAC plus a CAMARO stripped today by using 91% rubbing alcohol and a tooth brush,thanks for the help guys!
