Had a surprise visit from my stepdaughter last night. Lots of BBQ and slot car time :)

Nothing like the sight of our youth discovering this hobby. Very first time at the track.





Why is it the girls catch on faster? LOL. Anyway they had a blast.



Christopher getting involved too. They had a nice race.

The subject of the new Scalextric inlines came up recently. The new Porsche along with the sidewinder McLaren. Nothing but light tire and wheel sanding with new tires.



They had a ball. I did too. Watching them go at it for the first time is just a sight you never get tired of.

That is just too cool! Glad they had a good time.

Nice pit buildings BTW - ;) Surprised to see they are still standing the way I drive on that track...

Is there a reason the 4-lane track is so high off the floor?

The buildings are doing just fine sir, excellent craftsmanship has them holding up well.

Our home is an old one, circa 1947. In the 70's the foundation was strengthened by pouring a "cap" around the edges. This is concrete shelf that is about 4 feet high. With my space limited, I had to build the track on top of this shelf. So it is higher than normal.

However, all who race on it enjoy the different perspective.
