Yeah, both my wife and I have been bitten by the Lone Star tick that has come to our area. The damned little bastards inject an enzyme into your tissue that makes you unable to digest beef. I had no idea how much beef I routinely eat until I couldn't have it anymore (it takes 7 years to get past the sh*t). Several years ago, my wife managed to get bitten by a Lime Tick, and it cost us a huge amount of money to get treatment. Until I was nabbed by the Lone Star bastard, I never had troubles in the woods. It has to do with getting old and a metabolic change. With all the time I spent in the woods as a cross-country surveyor years ago, and being a country kid before, I never thought twice about ticks (easy to get off), but we always had no-see'ems, redbugs, mosquitoes, etc. We are hoping that our bounty of turkeys will gobble up all these nasty things. I am so sick of smelling Backwoods OFF! on myself.
