Fair Enough !

Although when the steering wheel's to hot to hold, it's just a bit warm.
It's not hot until they melt or crack. :D

The trouble with Douglas Adams is, every time I read him now, I hear Steven Fry's voice. I like it, but it feels strange.

They were very close friends. I don't have that trouble as I have Douglas' audio version of "Last chance to see." Douglas' delivery was a lot more laid back and whimsical.

When I was stationed at Clark AB in the Philippines, I was sent down to Williamstown RAF to partake in an exercise. My two weeks there was quite an adventure for one of the Aussie RAF members took me under his wing and showed me around. It was nice when he would take us by by one of the clubs and tell one person that I was an American after which we didn't buy any drinks but the drinks kept flowing. That is where I had my first schooner of KB beer and really enjoyed it. Years later I found out that the KB beer was a local brew and most of the Aussies that I have met have never heard of it. Anyway, here's one to you, Cheers.

Hahaha... But our PM just gave Phil the Greek a demotion to Knighthood.

Always my day to have the radio cranked up full blast listening to Triple J's Hottest 100 countdown. I'm sad, I know.

Spent the day on my own bending brass wire and drilling holes while His Lordship was off not catching fish. :)

"not catching fish"... Oh, that is so familiar.

When we were newlyweds, I spent about $100 (a lot back then), on renewing a lot of my fishing stuff that had become antiquated and about to disassemble itself. My new wife (age 20- I was 21), thought I was out of my mind to spend my savings on a bagful of fishing stuff. She said, "You have no guarantee that will get you any more fish than you could catch on the old stuff", but she let me keep it in the back porch since it didn't stink (yet). I just happened to go with my best friend the next time, and his catch and mine added up to a stringer that must have weighed 50 pounds. I thought I had halted the discussion until she tried to help me clean all those white slab crappies. I overdid it. It was midnight by the time we had them all cleaned and filetted for freezing, and from then on, she always warned me not to "bring back more fish than we needed" when I went fishing. No, I didn't tell her. But her relief when I came home with no fish from time to time was very pleasing.

(chuckle) I'm sure HL took up fly fishing so he doesn't have to come up with so many excuses.

Oh and while he was on the way home with an empty bag friends dropped in with 5 big Australian Salmon for the smoker. So I caught more fish than him without ever leaving home.

Oh, and is there another name for the cut of bacon you get? Our sowbellies suck for smoking.

Nope. Just plain ordinary pork belly for streaky bacon. Ours are probably meatier than yours 'cause the ribs are usually left in place. I boned them out individually on one piece but left the cartilage in place on the other. You could use higher up toward the loin for more meat.

Proper pork cuts ;)

"If you eat much more of that you're going to explode!" said my wife to our young son, as he shoveled in another mouthful of bacon.

Of course, statistically, he's far more likely to explode if he never eats any bacon at all. :flags-canada:

I had heard of English cuts but I never looked it up. What a difference.
