Man that is a fun track, I really like the flat track, with that big sweeping radius, the cars will act more natural than a sharp dog leg in some try ovals. .....

The holidays have slow progress of my current build. I was able to get some time in to get the walls, fencing and the outside walls done the last few days.

Nicely done. Could you show how you done the wiring, and how your track breaks down so it can be moved very interested in how it breaks down with the wiring hook ups.

Thanks for sharing.
remember no matter if you drag, drive in a circle, or on a road, if you go fast enough you still get dizzy

racer,
The wires are attached to the copper tape on the backside of each section and then to the terminal blocks. Then each section is connected from block to block, I could of used wire harnesses, but this worked just as good. The positive and negative wires from the power supply will be connected to terminal blocks in the same manner, I'm just waiting for them to arrive.

Here is a section removed by just loosening the wing nuts and disconnecting the wires from the terminal blocks that connect each section.

That is one of the things I really enjoy about these forums - the great sharing of info on "HOW" to do things! Kudos for sharing and for a coming up with a very nice finished product!

It's been awhile since I last posted an update on my current tri-oval build (its actually more of a D oval). I finally got it out of the basement into the garage. It got too cramped in the basement so it made working on it rather difficult and so I took a break just waiting for the weather to turn. I took all day Saturday getting it setup outside and I was able to get the walls on the straightaway and the D done today. I just have the walls on the last turn to finish up and start thinking about a timing system. Since I am close to interstate 55, I am naming the track Tr-I 55 Speedway. I am working on a logo and will paint it onto the infield in the future.

Late in the game to post, but better late than never. Outstanding! Everything looks great. Really appreciate how you went about building this track. Great ideas. Track looked great outside, perfect setup for an outdoor race fest.

I have been reworking the supports for my D-oval. The supports (legs) now go on and come off easy with this new setup. I took this short video of the track, sorry if it's not the best as I was driver and camera man at the same time.

This week I plan on painting the walls, tie down the catch fence, color code the lanes, drivers station and hopefully get started on the dead strips for the timing system.
