Slot Car Corner hits a home run

Our club decided to refurbish for the third time, one of our 10 tracks. The original track was a 68+,- foot one piece 4 lane wood track. Over the years it had been moved 3 times and retaped/painted twice. The most recent move has required that it be divided into three modules that are connected with tongue and groove fittings to make it portable. We were concerned with the longevity of tape so decided to apply braid. The old tape was removed and the race surface was prepped. An order had been sent to Slot Car Corner for the gain bit and pre-taped 1/4" braid. After routing, the primer was applied, then top coat applied and then sanded before putting on the final coat. At this point it was time to braid the lanes. Amazingly, three of us were able to braid the entire track in less than 4 hours! At $0.50 per foot this has got to be the deal of the century. No muss, no fuss, and zip zap, you are done!!! We did borrow the SCC deluxe burnishing tool from a member to help seal the tape so would highly recommend you add it to your building supplies.
Final thoughts, SCC has everything you need to make track construction painless with the pre-taped braid being at the top of the list.
