I was able to get my wall done last night. I picked up some plastruct patio stone sheets the other day to try instead of the brick pattern, then I used some apple barrel steel grey acrylic to fill in the joint lines. I think I like the look for something different, but I'm sure once I get the surrounding scenery done it will finish it off.

Looks good.

Is the track supposed to be situated in a dry climate; or could you have some creeper growing up the wall in one or two places?

David.

Very nice indeed.
I have my 1st routed track under construction. Learning a LOT from the great people on this board.

Thanks guys, yeah I'm going to do some type of scenery on/around the wall and some grass tufts down at the bottom. Getting there slowly...

Looking good Lee. I like the choice of stone over the brick. Less scale reference.

I got another update to the track tonight, after seeing what Harry did with his tracks putting in sanding stations for each driver I decided to incorporate some driver/sanding stations on mine. I picked up some 5.5x8 primed MDF strips and made a face board for the front of the track. Then I cut 2ft pieces and cut a slot and attached them to the face board. I still have to finish the end caps for them but I am thinking of cutting them in a rounded shape. I will have my SCC controller holders, some type of little tool tray for screwdrivers and such and some cup holders. Going to paint the face board in a checkerboard pattern. I have some leftover braid that I plan on using for the sanding stations. I was hoping to get further along than this today but as usual regular life got in the way..

Lee,

If you keep adding great looking additions to the new raceway, ModlerBob and myself are just going to HAVE to make a trip down and west to visit.

Everything is looking so good.

Congrats on achieving "simplistic elegance" with your track.

Lee,

I forgot to ask: Do Paul Gage tires work well on your racing surface?

Just want to make sure I bring along the cars that will work well.

Thanks guys, glad you like it. Wish I could have got it finished but I will have time in a couple days.

Marty, that would be great if we could all get together whether I come to you or you guys are welcome to come here.

Paul Gage tires and Yellow Dogs work great on my track surface and hook up well. :auto-driving:

Looking good! Just get it done, have the cars tuned, the soda cold, and the A/C on when I get there. I don't care if it is only 65 in December...

I have been working on getting the face board and driver stations painted the last 2 days. It was a lot of taping but I was able to do what I had planned. There is still a little more painting to do on the sides of the driver stations but I am happy how it turned out so far. I hope to have it all done in the next day or two.
