I got the T-Braces installed and the track screwed down tonight. Played quite a bit with elevations and like them at the moment. The back stretch kind of has a Nürburgring feel to it.

Oh, the two bare and weighted chassis are my test mules. I can roll them all the way down the back stretch to the start finish with one nice push. Helps find the bad spots in the track.

Rob - that is the old surface paint after removing tape and hitting it lightly with sander. The whole thing gets repainted soon.

Dave - I am going to paint a back-board and mount it to the table. This will happen again otherwise ;)

yes, I know what AC2Car is (I think it's called), but I can't remember exactly how it's wired. wonder if you clamped that same half of the AC waveform in the controller for braking, whether that would work. maybe Rich D. might know something about this.

I'm reminded of my old Classic car in the 60's (a Manta Ray?) for the big commercial banked tracks, which had giant rear tires and 2:1 brass spur gears. so in the front of the chassis was a swinging brass weight on a bar with a rope wrapped around the front axle, to try to give it some brakes!

(and, btw, T-Jet pancakes and up run on DC. the Aurora Vibrator cars with the reeds use 22VAC. I still have one.)

Speedy - thanks! I meant that was how the cars drive, not that T-Jets were powered that way. Sorry for the confusion.

Without brakes on AC the cars are awesome to drive. I've gotten great feedback on that aspect and most folks were really surprised by how well it works.
