yes, I know what AC2Car is (I think it's called), but I can't remember exactly how it's wired. wonder if you clamped that same half of the AC waveform in the controller for braking, whether that would work. maybe Rich D. might know something about this.
I'm reminded of my old Classic car in the 60's (a Manta Ray?) for the big commercial banked tracks, which had giant rear tires and 2:1 brass spur gears. so in the front of the chassis was a swinging brass weight on a bar with a rope wrapped around the front axle, to try to give it some brakes!
(and, btw, T-Jet pancakes and up run on DC. the Aurora Vibrator cars with the reeds use 22VAC. I still have one.)
