Track back together with borders now

Postby proxieken » Sat Dec 29, 2012 8:41 pm

This is something that took some planning on Ultimate Racer to get figured out. It is Carrera digital layout. I started with the area in the basement where the old oil tank used to be. It is 18' long and I wanted to be against the wall. Here is the plan.

The part pulled to the side is the overpass. It comes in at just under 70 feet, and it has borders in the corners so I can run some larger 1/24 stuff someday. The basic shape is an "E" so I can walk in the gaps and fix cars. The big change from the layout I tore down is the 4 lane section and all of it having borders now.

I was trying to give it a street racing look, so I put on some backdrops and some scenery.

This shows the back straight where it widens into 4 lanes.

And the construction spot where it goes back into 2.

Here is the local gas station;

And some folks waiting for a bus to go to work.

I got some more stuff planned, but for now I have to run laps and time the cars to see how it drives!
