I recently had an incident with Loctite, the details aren't important, but I needed a station were I could break in a motor when needed. I had a piece of maple that was a stain sample from our kitchen remodel and figured it would work.
So far so good.

Am I misunderstanding the photo or is that also a gearing wear-in?

If you smear the gear teeth with Tamiya Coarse Polishing Compound, you will get silky smooth gears in a few seconds. I use it on all cars I make chassis for.

I did not want to scuff in tires while they were on the car so I built this. I also have a skid pad made of Ninco track.

If the tires are really true it does not hop, so using this rig to polish the tires is a good test. I was thinking about adding some very light springs in the back, but those would mask the hop.
