THe layout possibilities are limited, first because I'm "blocked" inside the big oval, and also because of the scenery realism, or should I say, credibility.


edit : by the way, yesterday I completed the track cleaning. I tested it with multimeter, it's Ok. Tommorow maybe I'll test a short test with a slot car to see how the restaured tracks are running.

I didn't do anything today, except taking new measurements, and ordering a few more tracks for the inner roadcourse.

I fear the dragracing strip will be postponed, because of lack of space (the Oval will be probably lower on the wall than I thought, not allowing me to create an interesting length for the dragstrip).

But good news is that I just received an email from the parcel service, my american parcel is arrived in their agency. I should have it tommorow (not sure, since some parcel services doesn't work on staturday) or on thuesday (since monday 14th july is our National Day).

Tommorow I'll work on the things I should I've done today. I will also place my order for electronic stuff this week end (sensors, wiring, etc...).

I watch the parade every year, and the reportages about our military forces (Militaria is another one of my hobbies).

I read about the French Foreign Legion a few years ago. Those are some very scary folks. Their training program alone kills a lot of very tough guys.

Yes, their jungle training program (CEFE) in french Guyana is world known, probably one of the toughest in the world.


I'm in miniatures figures and scenery too ! From fantasy and scifi to modern historical, in 20mm scale, focusing on french army. ;)

I just hacked the artin power plugs to use my labo power supply on the artin 4lanes powertrack (easier for testing than wiring the track), I just tested to assemble a few of my old track parts on these new ones, even if they are not as good looking, they work without trouble.

I'm very happy to found again the smooth and quiet artin tracks !

Too bad artin track is hard to find now. It's still one of the best 1/32 track system.

I'm currently thinking of my oval layout, I'm wondering if I'll make bankings or not ?

Hi,

This afternoon I tested :mrgreen: other styles of layout, especially a big 8-style speedway (13x7), but I was not convinced. I think it's too technical for the racers here. I "play" slot racing with friends and family, who are not in the hobby at all.

THe second reason is that it's a "bad clone" of my HO layout, wich is a technical, fast layout, and very big in lenght/scale.

So the choice is validated. It will be an oval race, with a small training inner 2lanes road course;
