I once made one with a board cut to fit a decent picture frame. No cover, but it looked great. Cheap frames are easy to come by.

Crikey Embs, First you knock out the most detailed scenery I've ever seen on a slot car layout. Now these little beauties. Your really giving the model railway buffs a good run for their money. Rusty old gates, dodgy pushbikes, bits of corrorgated iron, graffiti, Outstanding efforts, your photography is amazing too!

I have serious doubts that it can really ever be anything more than a hobby. But I'm planning on putting a box on eBay some time soon to see what happens. I really don't think there's a market for them in Australia. But shipping is likely to be an expensive issue to get them to anywhere else.

I'm seeing these for the first time, along with your track, (thanks HRWJim for the heads-up) and they are all just awesome! The details just blow me away. Great work!

I could see these selling if you went that route. What about a continuous scene made up of 4 or 5 cases that when displayed together made a diorama (if you've not already done so)?
You've tempted me to at least try something along these lines.

On the subject of boxes, Ember, why not make your own?

With your skills, cutting 2mm acrylic would be a piece of cake, and it's easy to weld with "Plastic Weld"(methyl ethyl ketone if you can't get Plastic Weld in Australia).

A Wallaby is just a smaller version of a kangaroo. Think of it like horses and ponies, if it helps.

Oh. A rabbit with a long tail is a Bilby or a Bandicoot in my corner of the country.

Great detail on those bases. Could you not build a wood base and vacum form the clear case top?
