Race day is finally here...

After a short practice period this morning, the green flag should drop around 10am.

All cars were running pretty good in practice yesterday, so now it's time to put it on the line. :D

Race is underway, we're now in the 3rd heat (of 36 total).
So far 3 teams are on a record pace. Some really cool racing and some really great driving by everyone so far :banana-dance:

Now in the 5th heat. SCC is leading, but now having headlight issues. Team Hazzard was doing well, but the car has developed a chatter, so they're losing time trying to diagnose it.

After 8 heats, SCC has a decent lead, and there's a real close battle for 2nd between Team Dum Dum and Cloverleaf. 4th is the Hazzard team from Georgia, 5th is Team Cincinnati, and 6th is Team CanAm. Team CanAm spent a long time in the pits fixing a guide issue, so they now have an uphill battle.

Mark from the Hazzard Boys team has set a fast lap of 6.727, and their car is starting to look very strong. After having to glue the motor pod and falling to 5th place, they have climbed back to 4th, and are now staring to push in hopes of getting to 3rd.

Smokeio has gotten a record 404 laps in 48 minutes, so Team SCC is continuing to show the other teams our backside...

LOL!!! Looks like you guys are having a great time! Thank you for the updates! Would have loved to have come up and watched some of the action - but just couldn't get away this weekend. :cry:

Marks record will have to be checked first but if it is in fact during the race and not from a track call then yes it is a track record.
We have just gone dark so the next 5 hours will be all night driving.

Just past halfway, here are the projected standings, meaning if things continue as they are, this would be the final results. They can and will most likely change....

SCC - 273.82 miles
Dum Dum - 266.22 miles
Cloverleaf - 262.54 miles
Hazzard - 254.33

Cincinnati - 237.72

What teams correspond to what numbers? I can see from Dickie's name (and last year's results) that team 1 is SCC. But, I don't know who the rest are.......

The night time session is over. All the cars made it through, and are still running.

The battle for last between CanAm and Cincinnati has gotten very close. At the end of heat 26, they were only 5 laps apart. But then CanAm has another guide problem, so looks like they now have to battle back once again. They're not giving up, that's for sure.

SCC is still on a record pace, currently projected at 272.64 miles.
Dum Dum has 2nd with 264.39
Cloverleaf is holding 3rd with 260.03
The Hazzard Boys are still in 4th with 254.52
Cincinnati is 5th with 240.22
CanAm is right behind with 240.14
