PG tire/CBD wheel mismatch

I have a 15x10 CB wheel, and what I thought is the correct PG tire at 22166, but there is a slight bulge at the road contact area, like the center rib areas aren't matching. Not a real good way to measure that notch width on the tire; anyone care to guess what size tire this is, and which wheel it fits?

Hmmm not sure on this one. The 22166FF fits all of the 15x10 I used. Yes, a little truing time on the Razor but nothing glaring.

I am certain you are using the 15x0 and not the 15x11? I have mixed them up once or twice. Just checking.

Maybe some flash molding inside the tire tire?

No, I have four wheels and tires that look about the same. I'm sure about the 15x10 wheel; it's the tire that's harder to measure and be certain of. What would a 22168 tire look like on a 15x10 wheel? Maybe that's what I have.

Do you have a micrometer to check...twist tires inside out and check...JMHO. Then check wheel ribs.

I do not have 22166FF tyres but I do have 22168FF's so I tried them on 15 x 10 CBD wheels. And yes: it does "crown" quite a bit. As Harry mentioned: not insurmountable with a bit of truing but as-is it is just not a good fit. I think you are attempting an inappropriate combination. The width is wrong, the rib is wrong and the diameter is wrong. Other than that it is fine.... :D

Two observations:

1. I just do not think a 16mm wide tyre on a 10mm wide wheel is a good idea. The tyre extends way beyond the rim.
2. It was difficult to get the tyre on the 15mm wheel. I believe the crowning is as a consequence of the mismatch. The wheel diameter is too big and the rib seems too high.

In trying it on a Slot.it 14mm F1 wheel the fit was much, much better. Spot on in fact. This (or something similar) is clearly the wheel the tyres were meant for. Easy to get on (but still a good, snug fit) and the rib obviously fits as no crowning could be seen.

Thank you for confirming. I'll get some -6 tires for the 10mm wheels, and 11mm wheels for the -8 tires.
