NSR Nationals Race ** Updated 09/01/2016 **

This fall (Date to be announced later), CloverLeaf Racing will host the NSR Nationals. To give racers some time to get their cars ready, the rules for the race are posted below. Mike from CloverLeaf Racing will be providing more specific information in the near future with regards to Dates and Race Format

Quick question: If 99.99% of the Modern NSR GT cars sold on this continent come with a 21.5k rpm long can, why specify a motor change ($) that necessitates a pod change ($$), gearing change ($$$) and depending on what NSR Modern GT car you have will probably even need a new chassis ($$$$) to accommodate the sidewinder set up?

Joe a couple things. The distributor wanted to run modern GT only one sidewinder and one angle winder . I wanted more variety so I added the vintage GT. Second sidewinder is the setup of choice here I asked the guy's what they wanted to run and this is what we cam up with. I may adjust the rules after I talk to the guy's a the shop tomorrow. I want to make a race that everyone wants to do and also have fun doing. I would also think that almost everyone will change the chassis to the hard or extra hard chassis. The motor that comes with with them stock is way to much motor for a non magnet wood track so the motor change is going to happen no matter what.

Just to be sure, are you also requiring the use of 17x10 wheels in the vintage class even though they come stock with 15x8 wheels?

No, if that is what the rules state that will be changed. 15x8 is the only wheel that is allowed.

It's nice to see the changes that will allow the stock motor to be used in the GT class, just a pity that this was not carried over into the Vintage class as well, so we could run them as we bought them. Or are they too slow like that on the bigger track?

A question - when using the long can motors in the anglewinder pods, can these be any of the 3 EVO versions that were/are 21.4 or 21/5 k rpm?

I am interested in this event, and there are a few more SoCal guys that may join me.

You are allowed to run a vintage GT with the stock motor. That will be the only motor allowed in that class. We will not be running on the track at my house (the big track) this race will be run at the store. I was trying to get everything posted last night but ran out of time. Stay tuned I will be posting soon.
