My track is located in a 6 ft crawl space. I am 5-10 so it is OK, and because it is a crawl space the wife will never lay claim too it. However there are no windows, so when I am in this part of the basement, winter or summer, I have zero indication of the time of day. Without that clock I would have no idea of the time. So it serves a functional purpose. When I have the computer up and running with the timing system, then I have the system clock to remind me, but many times I am just down there turning laps or working on the layout without the computer on. I am sure all of us can relate to how time gets lost working on a hobby, focused on an issue or problem. What feels like 15 minutes can actually be a couple of hours. I know, because more then a few times I have slipped into the cave to spend a few minutes on something before going to bed, only to emerge 3 hrs later too receive all kind of comments from my wife as I quietly try to get into bed at 3 am. My only defense is she knew where I was.
Since the clock has been up, I tend to be shutting it done much earlier.
Cheers
Dan
