Great idea Allan and Aloha as well. Black bands applied to all out going proxy cars from me for this season.

I can't say I would be disappointed to lose to Marty again! I'm looking forward to it. Marty would laugh at that.

Well, the #8 Ford GT-40 showed up in today's mail. Here are a couple of starting pics:

Now to start the build for Marty.

I'll need some help on this one. Right now what I need is someone who's good at doing waterslide decals. I want to have a few custom decals made up that will fit this car. Anyone out there with custom waterslide decal skills? Let me know; thanks.

Allan is the number going to remain as number 8.
Reason I ask is that if it is I will add some small 8s on my car side windows or somewhere to show support.

This came in the mail today Slot.it Ford MkII. Still haven't heard back from Shapeways to see if they will have the Ferrari 512 Chassis. May put a HRSII Chassis under it.

Allen,
Depending on what you need I have a good printer and some decal paper on hand.

I'm not running in the proxy currently but am happy to assist for the cause.
Although depending on when this starts, might send something to run also.

Mike

Chappy, the small 8 on the cars is a fitting tribute.
If Allen needs some decals printed, maybe I can make some small 8's that the host can add to cars that would like them.

Sounds great Mike .
I just want to be sure that the 8 is the number to stay on The Marty Stanley Car.

Bob, yes the car will stay the #8. I don't plan to repaint this body.

Mike, thanks for the offer on the decals. What I need are good quality waterslide decals that won't rub off when you apply them. I will overcoat them with a couple of light coats of Future; I'm not going to risk crinkling the decals with a clear coat spray. I'll take this offline to go into the details of what I need. Thanks again.

I like the "little 8s" idea.

One more help point. I'm not sure if Marty was the kind who would go for a lightweight lexan tray-type interior or not. I use them a lot, but I'm not sure what he would do. Anyone have an opinion on that?

Opinion: since you can't know most of Marty's tuning tricks, use what you've been successful with, in his honor.

And, I'm all for placing 8's on my Chaparral 2E as a tribute to him.

I like the "little 8's" idea as well!
I am still in the process of painting and applying decals to my cars, so I will definitely be looking to incorporate those on my two builds.
Appreciate the thought on this guys.

Do you guys think a White roundel behind a black 8 would be good?
I will need to play with that, I cannot print 'white' so I have to think about what else I could do.

Audi1, replied to PM on suggestions, I will be playing with some options this weekend.

I did not have the honor to know the man by other than his reputation as it is currently discussed. Have been thinking that, since my proposed entry is to be #98; that I might do a 'regular' size 9 and a larger or bolder 8. Would this be offensive to those of you who are better acquainted?
