I use CRC QD Elecrronic Cleaner, it is plastic safe. Obviously you would not go drilling holes in an endbell if that was against the rules. My club allows that modification because I was the one that wrote the rules! Many FC type motors usually have some kind of hole in the can and there are slots in the endbell that are used to hold the motor brushes apart during assembly. FK type motors often have no holes at all. I like to flush the commutator just before a race, so dunking is not such a good option.
