What a great kit. Too long since I have seen one built up. Good call.

A great car. According to DR, my 70 T/A is one of his first generation castings....you have wider fender flares for those big meats! Will be watching your progress!

I hadn't noticed the flares, Sarge. You're right. Mine is like yours. I have a leftover chassis from a Challenger white kit body I'm using for the Showdown. I bet I can modify it to fit the Firebird, since the Camaro chassis I had for it got used for something else. Maybe I'll do both Firebirds at the same time... the '68 and the '70. I've been feeling guilty about letting them just sit in the box all this time. When I get these proxy cars done, I may set up for the cold weather and really have fun with them.

I did one of Dave's RMS Firebirds a few years ago. I'm pleased to say it's still a great looking car and still gets out for a run from time to time. One of my Faves for sure. I hope You'll have a blast with it both building it and racing it.

Hurt my back slightly so I am home and guess what I have been doing.
Made some inserts, painted, windows in place, plus put on a few decals. Motor and gears in place With Quick Slicks - Soft Compound on rear

Are you going to use the Camaro interior? Looks like it might fit.

The Camaro interior will fit. Just cut down the interior door panels otherwise there is a very obvious gap that looks a bit unsightly. Looking great so far!

Nice job there Austin, gotta get me a Firebird soon. I've had a thing about the name Pontiac since I got a Matchbox Ponty from my Nana when I was a young kid in '61
