What is the best size of copper tape to use on a wood track, thickness and width? Also a good source or two for purchasing and best brand. I'm taking the plunge!!

Thanks, Harry

I bought 1/4" wide copper tape for stained glass projects. It's the same stuff Professor Motors sells at a much cheaper price. It really sticks to the mdf painter surface. Remember if you have two lanes you will need 4 times your track length, three lanes = 6 times and four lanes 8 times. Here's a link:

If you have a Hobby Lobby near, check them.

Used this on my last oval and works as well as any other brand I have used.

When I last resurfaced my track I used guitar shielding. I got it from Stewart-Mcdonald. Here is the site.http://www.stewmac.com/How-To/Online_Re ... lding.html
The great thing about it is that the adhesive is conductive. You do not have to solder. I have had it on the track for two years without any problems. I use my track indoors and out of doors on a regular basis.
Good luck, don't go for the cheapest. You get what you pay for.
