Carrera NASCAR COT

Postby Racie35 » Tue Feb 14, 2017 11:01 am

Is there anyone running these cars against scalextric or scx NASCAR cars? If so, how are they working out? I hardly ever see them mentioned.

On our non-mag oval the cars are quite good and normally can out run the others due to the motor having just a shade more RPM.

The challenge are the wheels. Most times they are fine. But a few can require some truing. The wheels are a 2 piece design and when they were glued
together at the factory, sometimes they were not mated together as accurately as they should/could have.

But today we have machines. The last pair I have run smooth as silk after a truing session and new PG tires.

No one makes them anymore. Nascar prefers that the most current cars be made not older models like the CoTs.

The Carrera COT car won the Forums Cup COT Division in 2014 against SCX and Scaley cars. When they first came out people gave up saying it was to heavy. Well with time people have learned to make them work. This class however has an unlimited motor rpm. The car of GTOKing was powered by a 25K Slot.it motor.

Stock refer to Harry's post.

I'm just looking for some different NASCAR cars...no matter what it is it's got a ways to go to catch the scx pro I'm sure.
How much heavier were they?

We love running the Carrera NASCAR.
Have 6 SCX, 1 SCX PRO , 6 Carrera and a couple of the Scalextric PRO cars.
The SCX do very well on our curvy track and hold the record in the fastest laps.
The Carrera are smooth, quiet and fast because the are so easy to drive and you get confident.
This probably makes the overall race time quicker.
The SCX and Scalextric PRO cars are a little twitchy for me.....still learning
