Scalextric starter sets track ???

Bought a couple of Scalex Starter sets having lots of fun, tried to buy some track borders from Scalex USA (Hornby) but told that the borders dont fit starter track ? . Is starter track different to regular track.

The scaley start tracksets are expandable with additional start track straights and curves but due to the fact that the straights are a different length as well as the fact that the curves are a different radius than standard Scaley sport track it is hard to come up with layout configurations mixing track types that will close on themselves. To me the starter track sets are a dead end. I'm giving mine to one of my nephews for his kids. Also the controllers do not have a brake wire.

Ok well that was a let down, any recomendations regarding where to go from here track wise if I simply sell the two Starter sets.

If you like Scalextric then just move to the regular track system?
