Thanks for the dimensions Harry, 2mm narrower and 1mm longer than a MRRC version. I think I'll wait until the price drops a bit on them and going by what others have said there'll be more than a few doing the same.

It looks like the main issue with the chassis to track clearance is the motor being angled. If the motor was sitting flat with the rear axle holders adjusted accordingly, then the axle assembly would sit lower in the chassis which would provide more clearance. Perhaps, one of the 3d printer specialists could make a chassis for the car with the motor flat, then you can true down the rear tire some and still have plenty of ground clearance. The trued lower profile tire will look better as well.

I took the picture of the car that I posted at the Greenwich Concours in 2002. The car was parked in the shade, which imparts a grayish tinge to the color, however the car is not the nearly orange color seen in another post. I am not positive that the present color is the same as it would have been in 1967. The car belongs to James Glickenhaus, who owns a number of vintage racing cars. I suppose that he would be the one to ask if the color is authentic. Here is a picture from the other side, notice that the knockoffs are black on that side.

I wonder if the front wheel well showed more of the tire top it might not throw it off so much, and no the lined tires don't help that.., and the rear deck seems to be high at the spoiler..

These should get to bargain bin prices fairly quickly. I might wait until then to pick one up. Then I can afford to make the appropriate mods.

After getting back from Guyana I opened up my newly acquired GT MKIV from Cincy Slots. I must say, I wasn't disappointed. Like Bruce said, it looked good setting in the hand. The Bobble head didn't look that big to me when compared to the Chaparral 2F and Ferrari 458 That I got at the same time that were also Scaley. So all I did was flip the Brushes and sit in the slot. The Ferrari ran consistent 7.5 lap times on my track, the Chaparral 2F ran consistent 7.3 lap Times but the GT ran consistent 6.9 lap times. So for a comparison I pulled out one of my Scaley Mustangs, the 70 model #45, it ran a consistent 6.4 lap times but it was a little more broken in for it looked like one of the Grand-kids had it out as of late without me knowing about it. ( Guess I'll need to get a Harbor Freight security camera to watch how much excitement was going on out there when I was stuck in the house visiting with their Parents). Anyway, the GT may not be for most but for folks like me who like to just put it on the track for some fun with the Beach Boys playing in the background, I really enjoyed the car. But then again, I used to enjoy my Eldon GT back in its day also.

Well better late than never hah.. Finally got the time to run through this unit to see what it`s all about. Going by your review Harry, I knew the motor was to be changed. While it came out, it went directly to the RPM test. Yikes mine turned a steady 29.400 and reached over 30k a few times. Switched out a M/T-2 18K. Couple small slices of lead on the outer sides inside the chassis, changed the braid (left the stock guide), Trued up the rears and lubed it up, off to the track. Much happy with the results as it is, not a racer by any stretch, but it has the feel to me, to soon be a go to car for a fun drive.

Nothing's perfect in my collection...it's easy to just like that yellow thing despite a few issues.
I agree with the earlier poster...look st all the fun we had with eldons and others back in the day...heck! Some looked like pillow cars!, and no tire worked!

I bought mine and have to agree, its kinda disappointing.
However, since I have the yellow MRRC version it was a simple job to swap the Scalex body for the Strombecker J-car.
Much happier!
Just waiting on some decals from Pattos.

Decided to go with the pg 22125 tires and tried to redecorate them to look as close as possible. Really smoothed the ride a lot.
