Ideas On How To Build A 1:32 Hardtop / Jalopy

Postby Open-Wheel-Fan » Wed Jul 03, 2019 10:05 pm

Hello,

I'm hoping somebody can guide me in what parts to buy to replicate the car in the photo as close as possible. It's a 1960's dirt hardtop that my Dad saw racing as a kid. I'd hope to surprise him with a car similar to it but I'm having trouble finding a hardtop that isn't vintage. If anybody knows of a matching body let me know.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Open-Wheel-Fan,

I found this in the 3Dwarehouse (sketchup file)
I'm happy to clean it up, but someone a little closer may be able to 3D print it for you.

I think I found it, 32' Ford??

Looking real close at that car, It looks like it started life as a 33-34 Ford 5 window coupe. It could be a dodge or plymouth of the same year as well. I dont know of any available mid thirties dodge bodies in 1/32.The angle of the front of the doors, and the space between the back of the door and the turret makes me think this. As far as i know, the only 1/32 body available would be the snap tite version. it would take two of them to unchop the top, and convert from 3 window to five window with some dremel work. Should be do able though.
