I count everything - remember when I had over 400 unused slot car motors. Counting made me get rid of a bunch. I am down to about 300.

I love this thread!! All of a sudden I do not feel so guilty anymore: its therapeutic!

I have 274 accumulated over 3 years: all but one 1/32 with a lone 1/24. This includes 3 cars from my first time around in the hobby in the sixties that I had kept all these years...

I got about 2 dozen total. Half are 1/32 ( scale, womps, etc) and the other half are 1/24th scale flexi type.

Regarding the limited storage space in my basement (which is around 1900 sq.ft.):

One thing my wife and I do agree on is that the upper floors of our house are merely to keep the dust off the stuff in the basement (and keep out folks out like Reinecke's teenage friends... we tell folks with kids that there's a lot of bare electrical outlet boxes in our home (or lead paint chips), to spook them away). However, if I did try to expand into my wife's "Alabama Football Museum" in the basement, I would be carried out in a pine box...

Well, there's around 600 of the HO cars, all TJets and a few Vibrators. Another 200 bare NIB chassis and about 400 bodies, assembled, with around 100 to be built someday. Of course, I can't see anything that small anymore...

Did anybody increase their collection over the past 5 years? I know i did, made a head count on the Jagermeistercollection the other day. Thought it was +60 but seems it is over 90 :doh: And then there is some other cars, not orange.

I don't know my count (maybe 150, but definitely less than 200) but my purchasing has slowed pretty dramatically over the past three years since I started racing Carrera digital. Since I could only run Carrera toy cars on my track there weren't a lot of choices that got me excited. Sometimes though I would buy a car just so I could have a new one. I refuse to cut up a perfectly good car from Slot.it (or others) to add a huge Carrera chip, so that limited me also. But I have gone back to an analog track and am no longer under the tyranny of a proprietary digital chip and I am once again looking for some new racers.
