Ford-Porsche Wars - The Tracks

Here's where you'll find information on the tracks that we'll be using for this year's Ford-Porsche Wars proxy. I will add tracks as they become available, with a target of having 12-13 Rounds in this series; just like we did last year for the Ford-Ferrari Wars proxy. I'll also be posting the details of each track, to help the builders decide how they want to build/tune their cars.

10. TooBad Motorplex (host: kidvoltage) - Fairview, OR

11. Canfield Green (host: chappy) - Picton, ON

Can we get an idea of what the track voltage will be set at as well?

10-12V is pretty standard for most tracks.

Don't be fooled by the shiny surface, it's just the glare in the photo.
The track surface has a just the right amount of 'orange peel' to it which is great for grip, it's not as slippery as it may look.
We have seen a NSR Mosler run under 4.0 during a race.
Unbelievable response to this proxy, so many entries in such a short time - gotta be a good thing for sure!

Blackwidow Raceway Napier New Zealand

3 lane routed mdf with 8mm deep slots
braided
track surface is semigloss enamel
approximately 28m lane lengths with 100mm lane spacings
has a slight squeeze on the back hair pin
mostly runs on 12volts but can be turned down to run on less for those extra hot cars
I use trackmate for the timing and race control

we mostly use NSR or Slot-it N22 tyres
but urethane's work fine as well

We have a full series from Tracks for this proxy, thanks to all of those who agreed to host a Round! :text-bravo:

I'll post details on the tracks in a few days. I'll also re-order the tracks in the first post and will indicate approx. when the race will take place.

There is a possibility that we may be able to add one more track and finish up the series, as we did for the Ford-Ferrari Wars proxy, on Luf's Targa, but we'll have to wait until the end of this year to see if that will work out.

Cornerstone Raceway South Grafton, MA

Some of you are probably familiar with Cornerstone from the Carrera PanAmerican, Can Am, Sprite and U13 proxies.

4 Lanes, 75-83' length, Pyramid PS @ 10v, MDF, copper tape

Radarek, the current best time is in the mid 7 seconds.
Im sure it will improve though. I would expect somewhere around 6.8 to 7.0 will be a good quick lap on it. Some really good straight sections and some good technical sections with the double apex corners and uphill esses.
It has a nice flow but is not designed for simple point and shoot , the track has to be driven or you pay the price.
Lol.
Its a fun track too, and once the greenery and walls are in place will be remoniscent of the 60s and 70s era.
