How right you are, Tony! A combo of Monte and Dennis, should be a real challenger to the Fords that I expect to start seeing soon....

Thanks for the heads-up, Chris!

And Val, those Fords look really nice; one of them is a J Car - right?

Allan,

Thanks.... yes, one is the first generation Ford J and the other is the Ford GT MKI. Both are Strombecker bodies with the "J" riding on a modified Scalextric sidewinder chassis and the MkI using a stock Sebring. They are both very different cars, so we'll see how Bruce or Alice make out.

Great info! I'm running a Mirage body, an AVANT 20541(hard) podded chassis and pod, with NSR Ultra tires on the rear, front wheels tires from a scalextric Catherham and a slotit flat 6R motor with a 12 tooth pinion. I haven't decided on a spur gear tet.

One question, I've never used a podded chassis or this motor before...any suggestions on target weights for the car?

Sounds like a good combo, Don. Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with the Avant podded chassis.

Lot of nice lookin work.
I gave up on the decals,.. broke out the Porsche orange, made some numbers, sealing them, hopefully get 'er in the mail Wednesday, only halfway cross the state for me.
Good luck all!

Paul
They can see your tires, might see your gear stack,
Never let 'em know your ring and pinion!

Looks like a good start, Arrold. Nice livery on that car; reminds me a little of the #24 Scaley Ferrari 330 P4.

Well the motor I had planned for this build is illegal. Advant Slot Wizard. I have 2 they tacked 22.5 and 21.6 at 12V They are rated at 25k so I'll have to decide between the 21.5 Piranha the stock Fly or the 18K Gator.

Some have said that rating is based on 14V.

Allen I await your ruling.

Sorry Arrold, the rules say manufacturers spec on the motor, so that Avant Slot doesn't qualify.

I'm running Piranha motors in my cars, having decided against the NSR 22.5k motors. I like that motor and they generally tach out at about the same level as the old Scaley/Fly black stripe motors......
