Can you give more info on the truck proxy. Lloyd mentioned it to me, but I haven't heard or seen much about it
Cheers

more work on the truck chassis, now waiting for the wheels to arrive from shapeways!
and drilling of H0 crown gears to make them fit on 2.38mm axles. 3 good ones, 7 to be questionend and 7 will go directly to the bin.
tried several thing to get a right angle and centered, but got all kind of wrongs: not right angle, off-center, both and also 1 too large hole when experimenting with the speed of the drill.
back to the drawing board!

Peter, try using a 2mm axle to align the bore in the gear with the drill press chuck. Then dull (flatten or negative rake) the cutting face of the drill so it won't "grab" the existing bore in the gear.

Randy, thanks for the idea!
the existing bore in the crowns is 1.5mm
i could use a piece of axle to align the crown, clamp it fixed, switch to the 2.2mm drill bit and drill the hole.
most of the crowns are off-center but nicely right angled, so my problem really seems to be the centering. With the 1.5mm axle, this problem should be gone.
Will try it in the evening and report, i got 3 crowns left to try :)

started with the next chassis - it´s for a NASTRUCK

in the meantime - building a rollcage for the Mini Pickup out of styrene tubes. the tape helps to fix the ready parts while glueing the diagonal struts.

Nice work as usual Peter. You build some fine looking cars.( trucks too!!!!).

I should have tired to get something together for the Truck Proxy, but I think I am out of time. I think I have some old Artin Trucks somewhere. Should see If I can get something built from one of those.
Cheers

Nice work with the Minitruck Peter!

I finally finished the Jouef Porsche and added lights to it.
I was planning to just put LED's as a fake lights but then I thought why not to connect power to them
and see how they works.

great Porsche, Aki!
nice lights! they always add to the look of a car!

Dan, Artin trucks are fun, but they need a rotating guide! (part of the ProNoMag rules)

i will send an eMail regarding the Kleskun Hills Fun Run shortly.

new chassis under artin body shell sounds like the way to go, Dan!

the truck got his body holders today and got a light sanding with the tooth brush and pumice dust.

the Lotus is getting new tires as the old ones are worn down, a fine layer of dust on the Desmo :) thinking about changing the motor from the fyrebox-1 to a milder one ...

Cars to the Kleskun Hills are on they way so it's time to start thinking about truck proxy.
Two NASTRUCK resin bodies are coming from Roland, thank you once again,
but there is only 5 weeks before first race so time is getting short.

Luckily I found this and started to work with it immediately.

Image

Image

Started to build two different type of chassis, once finished I decide which one I'll use

Image

Brass version is almost done.
Body is plastic and it's little too small to be exact 1/43 scale, 2 mm too narrow and 4 mm too short.

Image

Trying to get this one done next week before NASTRUCKs arrive.

Cheers

Aki
