slowly getting there ....
rougher parts can be printed without problems by now, it seems that also this little printer needs some run-in-time as well as much fine tuning.
i will try to print a chassis soon, but there are still modifications to be installed, another HotEnd, cooler, mosfets, ... this is a little more work than expected. and more electronics than expected, as it seems that you can do more things with the software than with the mechanical part. or is the mechanical parts simply easier for me that fiddling with software? hm....

Hot End changed, X-waggon changed, X-belt fastener changed
Z-limit switch changed to optical switch, changed cables.
Thermistor- cables - plug changed. Mosfets - controll cables lenghtened
much work, but still much works on the cabling to do .....

but the printer should work again, can´t wait to print the first piece after all those changes ...

for the BARC SideWinder Chassis: when finished, i will make it available on shapeways, but i will try to print it on my own printer, too. but i killed the part cooling fan while working on it, so i have to wait for a new cooler to arrive. hoped to get one fast via a friend in germany, but looks like chinese shipping times for this cheap part ...

pinion will need shortening, i draw the standard lengh and shortening should be easy ...
yes, there are ball bearings in the rear axle. they need a small modification, so, removing of a part of the flange where the bearings touch the motor. short dremel work ...

Nice work from both you guys. That 3 D printed chassis looks like a winner. Lets us know when they are up on shapeways. Will have to try one or two. Should leave lots of room for interior detailing.

Of course I am a big fan of those motors, so having a chassis available that they will drop into is going to be great

Ps my cars returned home the other day. Haven’t even opened the box yet
