Sounds like a good idea.
If, perchance, the tires do not seem to be the deciding factor, you might want to look at the gearing........perhaps a fresh motor would help............and then there's the chassis itself - has it been straightened? Are you using two thrust washers at every axle/bearing interface? Perhaps there's a little wobble in the front end...........? Could the pod be a little less tight? It never ends, Alwyn, you know that................ You have to ship it to stop the inclination to improve performance........ ;) :o
If it runs like your Group 5 car this year, then you'll have nothing to be concerned about.
Good luck! :handgestures-thumbup:

Finally got a coat of paint on my Lola Mk3 and my chassis is starting to come together.
I love how the color turned out, Tamiya Camel Yellow.
Starting to come together now! :banana-dance:

Camel yellow is a great color and it will look very good on that car. Now you need some good decals.

I'm ready for the Honker body, Austin. Just some weight testing this weekend and it will be ready to meet up with it's better half.........
I used CGSlotcars Gurney Eagle inserts on the wheels and like the way that they look; should go well with the Honker body.
Bring on the Honker!

Allan's photograph of Steveew's Thunderslot Lola as the first arrival triggered some major doubts in my mind.
But what the hey, this is not life or death, so: I will be mailing my Monogram-based Lola over the next couple of days and that's it! I think it is pretty clear that the Thunderslot Lola is a better car for proxies, but we can't ALL enter the same car: what fun would that be? So Monogram is it for me and let the chips fall where they may!
Best of luck to all contestants!

Looking forward to seeing your T-70, Alwyn.
We won't know about performance until the first Round qualy, which will take place sometime during the week of May 7th, with a target first Round race day of May 12th or 13th.
